Miyi Dai Studio × FLOHAUS Gallery

October 18–19, 2026 · New York, NY

Press Release

FLOHAUS Gallery is pleased to announce Contemporary Living Spaces: AI in Interior Design, a special exhibition project in collaboration with Miyi Dai Studio, a New York City–based interior design studio. Presented on October 18–19, 2026, the exhibition explores the evolving relationship between art, design, technology, and contemporary living, reflecting on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the ways we imagine, create, and experience the spaces we inhabit.

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into our everyday lives, its influence extends beyond technology and into the creative processes that shape our physical environments. Interior spaces are more than functional settings; they reflect personal identities, cultural values, and the ways we engage with the world around us. Through this exhibition, FLOHAUS and Miyi Dai Studio invite visitors to consider how emerging technologies can expand creative possibilities while preserving the human sensitivity, intuition, and artistic judgment that give spaces their character.

The exhibition presents three residential projects by Miyi Dai Studio—Dumbo Loft, UWS Condo, and Brooklyn House—each illustrating a distinct relationship between traditional design practices and artificial intelligence. Originally developed through hand drawings, material studies, and close collaboration with craftspeople and builders, Dumbo Loft and UWS Condo are revisited through AI-generated interpretations, offering speculative perspectives on spaces that have already been realized. In contrast, Brooklyn House incorporates AI directly into its design development, using AI-assisted renderings to explore lighting, atmosphere, and material possibilities during the early conceptual stages.

Together, these projects reveal both the potential and the limitations of AI as a creative tool. While technology introduces new possibilities for visualization and experimentation, the decisions that ultimately shape a meaningful living environment remain deeply human. Questions of proportion, materiality, emotion, and the subtle imperfections that make a space feel lived in continue to depend on the designer's vision and experience.

As a contemporary art gallery, FLOHAUS is interested in expanding conversations beyond traditional artistic mediums and exhibition formats, exploring how art and creative thinking intersect with the environments of everyday life. Through collaborations that bring together artists, designers, and practitioners from different disciplines, the gallery seeks to create new dialogues around contemporary culture and the changing ways we experience space.

Contemporary Living Spaces: AI in Interior Design marks the first collaboration between FLOHAUS Gallery and Miyi Dai Studio. Building on a shared interest in the intersection of creativity, technology, and contemporary living, this exhibition also serves as the beginning of an ongoing dialogue. Both organizations look forward to developing future collaborative projects that further explore the relationship between art, design, and the spaces we call home.
